Good time of the day. I happened to get the C on my hands in quite a used but well-working condition. Then something happened and colors of photo-printing went off. I launched cleaning tool, which didn't help much, then i disassembled the unit, assembled it back and problem seems to fix itself. But now i ran into a scanning issue. Everything worked well before disassembly, but after it scanner began to display the vertical color stripes instead of actual image.
I tried several things from this forum like resetting the printer, updating firmware, etc, nothing seems to help.
Scanner wiring is in perfect condition, i checked twice. What can it be? Go to Solution. View solution in original post. Go to HP Customer Support , type your printer model number if necessary, then search for print quality to find the Fixing Poor Print Quality document for steps to resolve the issue. Fingerprints, smudges, dust, or debris on the scanner glass, under the scanner lid, or in the document feed slot can cause lines and color bands.
Clean these parts with a soft, lint-free cloth sprayed with glass cleaner. Read one of the following sections for steps to clean these components, depending on your printer type. I just removed all the external panels and disconnected scanner. That's all we can do with this level of support. So now thus piece of Machinery prints fine, but it became only the printer alone. Then i wwnt and bought an external scanner. And everything is fine, that's the only solution.

Let me notify you that i've already did what you said and that the image you swe attached to my post is an image of a blank white sheet of paper. Also let me notify you that i've already did the hard reset three times and that didn't work out. So for now i'm thinking about just throwing this thing away but maybe you can suggest something further to try to repair the scanner?
